About the Role:
Gotzinger Smallgoods is looking for a motivational Afternoon Shift Leader to supervise and coordinate packing and production activities. You will lead a team of up to 30 employees, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are consistently met while supporting day-to-day operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of up to 30 employees during the afternoon shift.
- Oversee packing schedules to meet targets safely and efficiently.
- Conduct machinery set-up and ensure all equipment operates correctly.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with Food Safety Standards and company policies.
- Ensure all staff follow Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
- Support training and development of team members.
- Respond to incidents, escalate issues as required, and complete shift reports.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous leadership experience in food manufacturing or similar production environment.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of up to 30 employees.
- Strong understanding of Food Safety and HACCP requirements.
- Experience with machinery set-up and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications:
- First Aid Certificate and CPR Training.
- Forklift Licence (advantageous but not essential).
- Certificate in Food Processing/ Leadership or equivalent experience.
Personal Attributes:
- Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic.
- Hands-on leadership style focused on coaching and support.
- Positive attitude with ability to build strong working relationships.
