In Chicago, they do it proper — and that means every topping. This classic Chicago Dog is built the authentic way: mustard, relish, onion, tomato, pickle, sport peppers and celery salt featuring Gotzinger's beef Chicago Dog. Just like the locals like it.

  • Ingredients

    • Gotzinger Smallgoods Chicago Dog – 4 sausages
    • Poppy seed hot dog buns (sliced) – 4
    • Sweet green pickle relish – 4tb sp.
    • Yellow mustard – 4tb sp.
    • Tomatoes (cut into small wedges) – 2
    • White onion (fine diced) – ½
    • Dill pickle spears – 4
    • Sport peppers (or an alternative) – 8
    • Celery salt – sprinkle

  • Instructions

    • Fill a medium sized pot with water and bring to the
      simmer.  
    • Once the water is simmering, add the Chicago Hot Dogs to
      the pot and cook for 5 minutes.
    • Remove the Chicago Dogs from the pot and pat dry with
      paper towel.
    • Carefully open the buns (ensuring not to split them in
      half) and place a Chicago Dog into the bun.
    • Top each Chicago Dog with 1tb sp. of sweet green pickle
      relish and yellow mustard, 2 tomato wedges, a sprinkle diced onion, a dill
      pickle spear, 2 sports peppers and a sprinkle of celery salt.
    • Serve and enjoy.
